Auezov Theater

The Auezov Theater is Kazakhstan’s national drama stage in the center of Almaty, next to the Auezov Theater metro station, the Almaty Circus, and the Kasteev Museum. Founded in 1926, it grew out of the first professional Kazakh theater troupe and remains closely connected with Kazakh literature and language.

Its repertoire includes classic works by Mukhtar Auezov and other authors, contemporary dramas, and festival productions. The monumental building houses large and small halls, as well as a theater museum.
