Charyn Canyon

Charyn Canyon is one of Kazakhstan’s most impressive natural monuments, located about 200 km east of Almaty. It is often called the “Grand Canyon of Central Asia”; it stretches for more than 150 kilometers along the Charyn River. The most famous section is the Valley of Castles, with striking red rock formations shaped by wind and time. Visitors can go hiking, camp, or simply enjoy the breathtaking views.
