The observatory on the Assy Plateau is located on a broad alpine plain 2–3 hours east of Almaty, at an altitude of over 2,700 meters. Surrounded by open meadows and distant peaks, it is considered one of the best places in Kazakhstan for stargazing and astrophotography. The site combines scientific heritage with wild natural beauty, attracting both astronomers and travelers in summer.
Opening hours: Summer season, 09:00 – 20:00.
