Tamgaly Petroglyphs · UNESCO Site

The Tamgaly Petroglyphs are an ancient open-air gallery located about 170 km northwest of Almaty. This UNESCO World Heritage Site contains more than 5,000 rock carvings dating back to the Bronze Age. Images of people, animals and rituals offer a unique glimpse into the early civilization of Central Asia. The site is remote, but has a special atmosphere and great historical significance.

Opening hours: Monday–Friday, 09:00 – 18:00. Saturday and Sunday are closed.
