Big Almaty Lake is a turquoise mountain reservoir located 25 km south of Almaty at an altitude of 2,511 meters. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, it supplies the city with drinking water and offers one of Kazakhstan’s most iconic views. The area is part of Ile-Alatau National Park and is popular for hiking, photography, and picnics.
