About

Lake Kaindy is a surreal turquoise lake 4–5 hours east of Almaty, near the village of Saty. Formed after the 1911 earthquake, it is known for its flooded forest — tall spruce trees rise from the clear blue water. Surrounded by mountains and coniferous forests, it is a popular spot for hiking, camping, and photography.

Opening hours: Open 24 hours (best season: May–September).
Address: Saty village, Kolsai Lakes National Park, Almaty Region.
